Borovets is the oldest Bulgarian montain resort by 1896. Our days it’s the biggest and the most modern mountain resort. It’s situated 1350 m. sea level under the peak Musala, 75 km. from Sofia and 125 km. from Plovdiv. The coolness summer, the soft and snowy winter, healthy climate makes him in one nice place for rest and winter sports. Borovets has been a host of World bowl of ski - Alpine discipline two times.
The track is recognized for one of the best in the world, long over 45 km and they are with different difficulty. They are in excellent state and they are mark in different languages. The school of ski in Borovets is with international famous. There are over 200 instructors of different languages. The teaching has 5 levels from A to E. There are groups and individuals. From 10 centers you can rent ski, equipments and sledges. You can leave your things for save. There are a lot of comforts for the tourists. The chair lift to the Yastrebets is amazing. It’s for 1200 persons to hour and it reaches to the top for 23 min.
There are roads which are mark and they reach to different parts of the mountain. The march to Musala is 6 houres. Four equipments are completely equipping and they have a helicopter. Their basis is situated near the first station of the rope chair lift. There are carriages, swimming pools, fitness center, billiard, tennis table, bowling, walk with helicopter and other.
You don’t have to leave the night of the Bulgarian folklore. Borovets can offer you very temptations: night clubs, bars, discos, ski-carnivals. The guide with effort can show you the artistic roads in Rila. They organize photo-safari too. There are tours to Melnik, Sofia, Plovdiv, and the Rila monastery.
Musala Peak (2925 m) is the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula. Located in the East (Musalenski) share of Rila. The average annual temperature here is minus 3.1 o and above zero is only 4 months a year, the snow cover lasts 8 months. Of Borovets can be climbed for about 3-4 hours, with a marked trail through the hut Musala to the top. Name the top means "The Roud to God", visit it annually over 50 000 people, on its slopes there are many huts. High heels are a Meteorological and Environmental Observatory.
