Vidin is administrative center and port of Danube river. From the rich history of the city are the fortress "Baba Vida" (Grandmother Vida), Palace and Mosque of Osman Pazvantoglu. In the near village Archar are the ruins of the roman town Raciarya.
Pleven is the central part of the Danube plain near Vyt river. The town exist from thracian times under the name Storgosya, under the slav times was called Kamenec, from 1266 the name Pleven. It becomes world known with the blockade at the time of Russian–Turkish war 1877/78 - "The Liberation War".
Svishtov is a town with architecture from XVII/XIX century, univercity center. The sightseeings are the ancient town Nove, the Holy the Assumption Church, The Monuments park.
In Lovetch impress the Varosha Architecture Reserve, the covered bridge over the Osam river–the only one on the Bolkans, the monument and museum of Vasil Levski.
Veliko Tarnovo – the old capital of Bulgaria – is a town with huge historical past, many monuments and sightseeings. Not far from the city is Arbanasi – architectural reserve included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.
Ruse is the biggest bulgarian town on the Danube river. It is known as the Small Viena, because of its beautiful architecture. Near is the Rusenski Lom Natural park and the Rock monasteries, which are under UNESCO protection. In the near town Byala is the famous bridge of Master Kolyo Ficheto over Yantra river.
Razgrad is on the river Beli Lom. Here is the Abritus Architectural Reserve, the Ibrahim pasha Mosque. There are a lot of values in the historical museum. 40 km is the famous tracian tomb near Sveshtari, included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.
Shumen and the region around him is very rich of historical monuments from the First Bulgarian Country – The fortress of Shumen, the old capitals Pliska and Veliki Preslav, Madara riderman, which are under UNESCO protection, etc.
Silistra is the last bulgarian town on the Danube river. Here is the medieval fortress Durostrum. 12 km from the city is the Srebarna Reserve, included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.
